Art
At St Stephen’s our vision for the Art Curriculum is to equip children with the knowledge, skills and confidence to experiment, create and invent their own works of Art.
Our Art curriculum promotes creativity and imagination; involving pupils in a range of visual, tactile, and sensory experiences. This enables them to communicate their feelings, knowledge, and ideas in their pieces of artwork.
The diversity in our curriculum celebrates artists of all cultural and geographic backgrounds, observing how other artists approach their art through different styles, techniques, and concepts.
In KS2, Art is taught by a specialist art teacher. By the time children leave St Stephen’s, we want them to have developed a passion for art and creativity, working both independently and collaboratively.
They will have grown in confidence when using a range of tools and techniques, becoming artists that can apply the skills and knowledge that they have developed throughout the years and respond critically to their own and other’s work
