St Stephen's School Trust
Help Us Plan for the Future
St Stephen’s School Trust (its official name) is a Registered Charity (number 800126) which was set up in 1988 by a parent who wanted to provide a way for parents and others to support the School in the longer term and which would operate alongside the money raising activities of then PTA, now FOSS. It has a very broad remit and can use its funds for any charitable purpose connected with the School. The present Trustees are the Headteacher and two of the Governors.
Over the years the School Fund has received legacies for example to support the music at the School; grants for specific purposes such as environmental projects, and long term donations from parents and grandparents of children who have left the School and wish to show their appreciation for all the School did. This is in addition to the monthly or quarterly standing orders and direct gifts received from current parents, carers and relations. It also benefits from Gift Aid.
Importantly the Fund can commit to longer term projects, such as the Green Wall, which helps the School in planning for the future.
This means not only that the Fund can buy equipment or other items needed but it can also contribute to other resources needed by the School such as additional maths support. It has also funded refurbishment projects for which other funds were not available, made gifts to express appreciation for the work of staff at the School and contributed to general School expenditure .
Also its ability to support the School funding is particularly valuable now when the funding for Schools is so restricted and the wide range of activities that the School has been able to provide outside the core curriculum are threatened.
Please consider making a small donation to the School Fund – if you could make a regular donation of perhaps £10 or £20 a month, or a one off gift of any amount, this would mean that we would have a regular stream of money that we can use to help with balancing our budget each year, in running the school ,delivering quality teaching and maintaining a broad curriculum. Regular donations will give us the confidence to plan ahead, knowing that we have a level of guaranteed donations.
